Who is Roy Rhino, anyway? FAMILY: Married, to his wife Suzanne since 1972. They are proud parents of two grown daughters, Tiffany and Melanie Ask Roy what his top priority is, and he will tell you without hesitation, it is his family. He has plenty of awards and trophies, but they take an obvious backseat to the family life he enjoys. He's the kind of dad who's been involved in every phase of his daughter's lives, whether it be helping with nightly bottles, pushing them on swings, attending their sports events, helping them with homework, or offering morale support. Roy coached AYSO soccer for Melanie's teams, served as team Dad in Club Soccer and attended Tiffany's cheerleading competitions, games and gymnastics. Like many dedicated parents, he has worked hard to save for their college educations. Tiffany graduated from Arizona State and Melanie from San Diego State. If you want to see "proud", just ask Roy about his daughters. Actually, you probably won't even have to ask. Alma Mater: Graduated from USC with Bachelor's & Master's Degrees. Member of USC Football Team as a kicker. Career Before Real Estate: Taught Social Studies and coached football/soccer at Gladstone High in Azusa 1969-1984. Resigned from teaching in 1984 to focus on already successful real estate career. Named "Coach of the Year" in football in 1977. Hobbies: Roy and Suzanne love riding bikes at the beach, dining out on pizza and a glass of wine, whether with friends or just the two of them. Favorite Sport: Football, specifically, USC and a die hard Angels Baseball fan since the early days at Wrigley Field and "Steve Bilko" days! Community: Rotary - Active in fundraising for LA County Sheriff's Dept.'s Sane program to fight Drug Abuse. A strong supporter of the City of Hope and the Disabled Veterans organization. Chamber of Commerce - Chartered Member Chaired Chamber's Business/Education Committee for several years Honored as Chamber "Person of the Year" Real Estate: Licensed in 1980. Consistent top producer, mentor to new agents, maintains loyalty of past clients. Words to Live By: Work hard, tell the truth, take pride in what you do, and keep your word. Whatever the circumstances, Roy is unwavering in these principles. In coaching, this meant taking the football team from a 23-game losing streak to their first ever varsity football championship. In real estate, it means his clients are reassured in the knowledge they have the best representation by someone who genuinely cares about them, and who is always accessible to them. "Repeat and referral business from past clients is the meaningful measure of my success, much more than my collection of sales awards and trophies, " said Roy. Business Philosophy: Take responsibility for learning your profession. Roy prides himself on getting the job done with professionalism and an attention to detail that causes clients and other agents to call him a bulldog. You will not find anyone else who will commit the effort into selling your home or helping you buy one than this dedicated husband, father, Realtor and friend. Call him, you'll be glad you did! Since 2003, Roy has taken on the added responsibility of mentoring agents from the Diamond Bar and Chino Hills's offices and has guided many new or strugggling agents to higher productions in their careers while sharpening his own skills in the process. Roy says, "I love to see when the light finally goes on for my mentorees. When they finally get it, I am thrilled".
